Adoption Home Studies
Growing up, foster care and adoption were always around me and have had a huge impact on me. When I was 14 years old my family began fostering the most perfect 2 year old, energetic, hilarious little boy; a couple of years later we adopted him. That process changed my life forever starting with the shift from going into college for journalism to sociology, later attending grad school for social work.

Adoptions have strong impacts on not only the child being adopted, but also the family that the child is being adopted into.

Now, having the opportunities to help other families in the world of adoption I feel that things have come full circle.

Having a foster child myself, I know that home studies can be daunting and quite personal. However, they are necessary and I want to make this process as comfortable for you as possible. Let me complete your home study with you so that you can get to your dream of adopting.
How Does It Work?
Whether you are still considering adoption or have decided that this is what you want to do, you or your lawyer may contact me to begin the home study portion. You will complete the form by clicking the link on the bottom of this page and upon receiving your initial fee of $50 (to be deducted from final total) I will email you the forms that you need to begin your background checks. Background checks are the longest part of the process so we will need to begin those ASAP.
Once background checks are completed we will schedule a time to visit your home and conduct the interview process. Please allow for 2-3 hours for interviews.
Pre-placement - $850
If this is your first time adopting or considering adoption we will begin with an initial home study including interviews, background checks, and other forms.
Home Study Update - $500
In the state of Oklahoma, home study updates are required after one year. Even if nothing has changed I am required by law to follow up with the family
Post Placement - $350
Following the placement of a child into an adoptive home a post placement study must be completed. Time after placement may vary due to the expectations being determined by the judge involved in your case.
